Start from the portfolio you already keep
Northmap works from your application catalog, wherever it lives today. Bring it in from a spreadsheet or a tool export, then connect the systems that matter to you, one at a time and with your team.
What works today
No connector project is needed to start. These work from the first day.
Your application portfolio, from any export
Upload a CSV or Excel file: an export from LeanIX, ServiceNow, Planview, Ardoq or Flexera, or a spreadsheet your team keeps by hand. Northmap suggests which column feeds which field, and you confirm each one before anything is imported.
- Mappings are saved, so next month's export imports in a few clicks
- Re-importing updates existing applications instead of creating duplicates
- Columns Northmap does not know can be kept as custom fields
12 columns and 380 rows read from the file. Similar to the saved mapping “LeanIX export”, with one new column: Provider.

- Vendors, by e-mail
- Questions go out by e-mail. Vendors answer through a secure link, without creating an account, and each answer is kept with the evaluation.
- Your company sign-in
- Single sign-on with Google and Microsoft Entra ID, with two-factor authentication.
- AI agents, through MCP
- Agents can work with your catalog, requirements and decisions through the Model Context Protocol.MCP and agentic flows
Systems we connect Northmap to, with you
These are the systems enterprise IT teams typically run alongside Northmap. Each connection is set up for your instance and your data, with your team.
In a first call we confirm which of your systems can feed the catalog, before we promise any connector. We would rather be accurate than oversell.

How a connection is set up
We start simple and connect more only where it saves your team time.
- 01
A first call
We list where your portfolio data lives today and confirm which sources can feed the catalog.
- 02
A first import
Your catalog comes in from an export of your current tool. You check the mapping and the preview before anything is saved.
- 03
A direct connection, where it is worth it
When a regular export is no longer enough, we agree the scope, the data and the access rights with your team before connecting.
See Northmap on one of your real demands
Bring a request you are working on. In 30 minutes we show you the requirements, the reuse and market options, and how the decision would be recorded.
